Unlike most console games that eventually run out of puzzle content, this one utilises another Route 1 innovation – endless content. The challenge was to create a new style of brain training game for the Nintendo DS, offering the credentials of Dr Kawashima, yet providing new game innovations and lots of game variety and fast fun.

Ten generators inside the game code produce a new set of puzzles every time it is played – for ever! A great USP for the publisher and fantastic value for the consumer. Scheduled for initial release in US English and French by ZOO Games Inc throughout North America in 2011, the format will also release in multiple languages throughout the rest of the world in due course.

The Cube is a physical game-show format that provides compelling family viewing. With the current appetite for motion controlled gaming – Kinect, Move, Wii and 3DS – this is perfect timing to take The Cube to console.

The game will release internationally through Koch Media in time for Christmas 2011. Watch out for versions on 3DS, PS3, X360 and Wii, plus network downloads in 2012. It will depart from trivia-based TV formats and focus on physical game play for one or more players.

Broadcasters have been searching for “the next Millionaire” for years and after many false starts, it has happened. Here is a format that attracts and maintains huge prime time audiences, provides a new viewing experience, has the potential to expand into a global success and drives sales of branded consumer products. We’re proud to announce that Route 1 was the uncontested choice for exclusive interactive licensee.

Something of a British TV institution, this game achieved similar status, being resident at the top of the charts for three years running. Featuring Sue Barker and, in the last edition, Matt Dawson, it is a very faithful recreation of the TV show with a few interactive twists.

Released each year through 2entertain, A Question of Sport became a staple of the BBC’s Christmas ‘gifting’ line-up, heading up all their promotional campaigns and a repeated winner of sales and production awards.

This was our first major venture into the non-commercial sector in collaboration with the Centre for Sports Exercise Science at Sheffield Hallam University and the NHS. The result was an interactive DVD title that educated and informed, but above all kept users engaged because it was entertaining. It made a profound difference in the wellness of high risk groups by transforming their dietary and exercise regimes and has been extended much more widely as a result.

Since this project Route 1 has often been engaged to consult on new projects where innovative approaches to user-engagement are required.

It reflects the needs of today’s learners for a more entertaining experience that can be played on the move.

Released simultaneously on Wii, DS, PS2, PSP, PC, DVD and SWP (touch screen pub consoles) through three different partners; Ubisoft Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Channel One Games, this simultaneous release proved to be a big hit and is reputed to have re-launched the career of Noel Edmonds.

It proved a great success by updating the original TV format, but maintained its appeal for the whole family. Based on clips from famous TV shows, the franchise ran for four consecutive editions, testament to Route 1′s planning of the product cycle, ensuring there was always a reason to buy the next edition.
